NBBC Road Project Video Trilogy

On Monday September 8, 2014, ground was broken and the long awaited NBBC Road Replacement Project was officially underway. You can see the entire process from beginning to end with this trilogy of videos reviewing highlights from the entire six weeks of construction which included replacing the main sewer line from the upper hill to the lakefront, timber reconstruction and the pouring of concrete walls and sidewalks. The great crews from Stewart Excavating, JC Plumbing, Olsen Concrete, SMP Landscape and Merit Paving, working in tandem with NBBC Planning and Development Chairman Tim Hanafee, along with our "Road Crew" Ray Johnson and Bill Schueler, made this project a great success. Videos created and produced by Ford Colley.

NBBC "Whitewashed"

As the warmer weather and "spring green" returns to camp, take a look back at NBBC "whitewashed" by nature as the lake and camp hibernated for the winter season. It was very quiet and peaceful. Even the bare trees, the snow covered grounds and the gray skies of winter show how beautiful the stark "polar" opposite of NBBC's summer season is along the ice covered lake. This video was shot on January 20, 2014.

NBBC Christmas Celebration - 2013

NBBC held it's second annual Christmas Celebration in the Bowman Chapel on Saturday, December 7th. Although the outdoor temperatures were just above zero, through the efforts of Ray Johnson and a number of portable heaters, the unheated chapel was warmed to a very comfortable 68 degrees. Toni Sergenian's incredible Christmas decorations set the stage for a wonderful service of song and praise lead by Rev. Galen Thomas, as Jim Carstens played the piano. Mary Alexander provided Special Music for the event performing an original song she composed together with her husband Ford Colley called "On Christmas Day". The celebration was attended by over 50 cottagers and raised nearly $700 for the camp's Road Repair Project, which will be matched by the Matching Funds campaign. Following the service, a luncheon was hosted by Nancy Samuelson in nearby Delevan. A festive time was had by all!

NBBC Sky Lantern Festival Fundraiser

Norman B. Barr Camp's first Sky Lantern Festival was held as a fundraiser for NBBC on Sunday evening September 1st. More than 50 sky lanterns were launched from the pier, as a distant thunderstorm lit the sky, producing an outstanding backdrop for the event. The camp raised over $1,000 which will go toward the camp's road improvement project. The festival was coordinated by NBBC's Bill Tarver and the video below was Produced & Directed by Ford Colley, who also composed and orchestrated the soundtrack music. The magnificent still photos were taken by Megan Wepner.
