Norman B. Barr Camp

On the shores of beautiful Lake Geneva

Norman B. Barr Camp’s Religious Program includes weekly services during the summer season in the camp's Bowman Chapel.

Church Services

Christian Church Services are held Sunday mornings at 11am and feature a traditional service with a different guest speaker each week. The service also includes scripture readings and music. The public is invited and welcome to attend.

Sunday School

Norman B. Barr Camp’s Sunday School meets each week in the chapel at 9:30. The primary curriculum source One Room Sunday School, is designed for children aged 3 to early teens. The program helps kids of all ages study and learn together. Each week, they encounter a Bible story, helping them to understand the Scripture and how to apply it to their daily lives.

In addition, leaders traditionally take the children on an annual hike to Uhlein Spring where, using nature’s scraps, they assemble boats representing sin and sorrow, and launch them to learn about forgiveness. Other traditions include teaching The Lord’s Prayer, arts and crafts, and music.

Each Tuesday night at 7:30 when the camper program is in session, we gather for our traditional Vespers service. Participants are welcome to request their favorite hymns. Selections range from old time favorites to more contemporary praise choruses and children's songs complete with hand and body motions.

NBBC Celebrates Christmas With Worldwide Webcast
NBBC's 3rd Annual Christmas Celebration was held on December 6th in the Bowman Chapel and was attended by many cottagers and volunteers of camp. The service was once again led by Galen Thomas with music provided by Jim Carstens. The chapel was transformed into a Winter Wonderland with decorations designed by Toni Sergenian and looked absolutely fantastic!

This year's celebration was also special as it was broadcast live via the Internet to the world. "Live From Bowman Chapel", NBBC's premiere webcast, was viewed by many in our community who live out of reach from the area during the off-season. The entire celebration is available on NBBC's YouTube Channel. Following the service, the celebration continued with a luncheon hosted by Nancy Samuelson in nearby Delevan. A great time was had by all!
