NBBC Volunteers Prep For 107th Season

The 2016 Season at NBBC is just a days away! On June 11th, our 107th year begins and gives us yet another opportunity to provide an exciting and fun summer, hosting scores of children and young adults, proudly carrying on the legacy and mission of Norman B. Barr. Through the efforts of our crew of volunteers during the month of May, we've been working hard to get the camp ready. Our facilities are undergoing renovations and our grounds are being groomed following the long winter. Our Board of Directors have been working together during the past few months planning the programs, hiring the staff and arranging the group schedules, which will include ten camper groups this summer.

During the summer of 2015, our program made great strides in several areas and expanded with even more activities, including the addition of Kayaks to our Waterfront, educational field trips to Yerkes Observatory and visits from "The Science Guy". Plus, NBBC added a visiting artist program and entertaining magician to the mix of activities. Witness our 2015 camper program in action by visiting our Activities page and viewing our new NBBC Camper Photo Albums page. We also invite you to learn more about our camp's Facilities and History by exploring this site. Plus, learn how you can make a difference and join NBBC's mission by visiting our Donate page.

NBBC's Need Continues
In order to continue to provide economically disadvantaged children and those with special needs with totally free summer camp experiences, our camp has become increasingly dependent upon the generosity of individuals outside of our operation for donations of goods, services and funding. NBBC has successfully operated this way for over a century.

Thanks To The 2015 Camp Staff

NBBC's 2015 Summer Season was a great success! Under the expert guidance of Camp Manager, Bill Tarver, in his 1st year of leadership, our top notch staff included many familiar faces from previous seasons, who operated the camp with maximum efficiency and provided our campers with a safe and successful summer! Many of these same folks are returning again this summer, contributing their experience and talents for what we're sure will be another outstanding season!
