NBBC's 107th Summer Season!

The 2016 Season at NBBC is underway! As our 107th year continues, it gives us yet another opportunity to provide an exciting and fun summer, hosting scores of children and young adults, proudly carrying on the legacy and mission of Norman B. Barr. The efforts of our crew of volunteers during the Spring prepared the camp, making it ready to host our camper groups and cottagers alike. Our facilities underwent renovations and our grounds were groomed following the long winter. Our Board of Directors worked together during the Winter months planning the programs, hiring the staff and arranging the group schedules, which include ten camper groups this summer.

Last Summer, our program made great strides in several areas and expanded with even more activities, including the addition of Kayaks to our Waterfront, educational field trips to Yerkes Observatory and visits from "The Science Guy". Plus, NBBC added a visiting artist program and entertaining magician to the mix of activities. Witness our 2015 camper program in action by visiting our Activities page and viewing our new NBBC Camper Photo Albums page. We also invite you to learn more about our camp's Facilities and History by exploring this site. Plus, learn how you can make a difference and join NBBC's mission by visiting our Donate page.

Visitation School Returns As 5th Group of Summer!

NBBC welcomed back Visitation School as our 5th group of the summer, marking the midway point in our Camper Program. Their Barr Camp Week was filled with many exciting activities including special programs like Motor Boat Rides and a Yerkes Observatory evening field trip, plus lots of fishing, kayaking and swimming! See all the fun in this slideshow created by Bill Tarver!

NBBC's Need Continues
In order to continue to provide economically disadvantaged children and those with special needs with totally free summer camp experiences, our camp has become increasingly dependent upon the generosity of individuals outside of our operation for donations of goods, services and funding. NBBC has successfully operated this way for over a century.
