NBBC's 106th Season Concludes
NBBC's 106th season has officially ended as the camp closed at Noon on Labor Day, concluding what turned out to be a wonderful and safe summer for all involved. Through the efforts of our great staff and crew of volunteers, this season our Camper Program expanded and hosted ten groups of children and young adults with even more activities, including the addition of Kayaks to our Waterfront, educational field trips to Yerkes Observatory and visits from "The Science Guy". Plus, this year NBBC added a visiting artist program and entertaining magician to the mix of activities. Witness our camper program in action by visiting our Activities page and our new NBBC Camper Photo Albums page. We also invite you to learn more about our camp's Facilities and History by exploring this site. Thanks to everyone who contributed their time, expertise, efforts, and money that combined, made the 2015 season an outstanding success!

2015 Women's League Hot Dog Roast A Sizzling Success

It was a typically hot August "Dog Day" in September, but it didn't stop one of the longest running and best attended annual events from once again attracting scores of cottagers and guests to another successful fundraiser for the NBBC Women's League. The 2015 Hot Dog Roast served great food and the raffle prizes brought in a large amount of money that will be donated to camp. Thanks once again to everyone who donated prizes and supported the event.

NBBC President Gets A Pie In The Face

One of the items up for bid at the silent auction during the NBBC Boat Cruise V Fundraiser event, held earlier this season in July, was the opportunity to throw a Cream Pie in the face of NBBC's President, Ford Colley during the Annual Hot Dog Roast. The highest bidder from the auction turned out to be Ford's longtime friend Cindy Reiland, who gleefully delivered the pie right on target, to the cheers of the gathered crowd.

NBBC Refectory Holds Annual Bittersweet Blowout

For decades, Labor Day Weekend has been bittersweet for NBBC young people. "Bitter" because it concludes their summer at camp and they have to return to the classroom. However, the weekend is also "sweet" because every Labor Day morning brings the Refectory's Candy Store Blowout, when prices on the remaining confectionery are slashed to rock bottom, resulting in long lines of happy children waiting for the sweet deals.
Family Tradition Continues As Grandchildren Swim Lake

NBBC's Pat Tucker and her sister Nancy Samuelson swam across the lake in the 1960's. During that same decade Pat's daughter, Cindy followed in her Mom's "swim strokes" swimming across the lake as a teenager. On Labor Day Weekend, Pat's grandchildren Luke & Geneva Sergenian continued the family tradition, and were joined by Aunt Cindy, for her second crossing, five decades after her first. Congrats to the trio on a great accomplishment!
Thanks To The 2015 Camp Staff

NBBC's 2015 Summer Season has been a great success!. Under the expert guidance of Camp Manager, Bill Tarver and Asst. Manager, Carolyne Luna, both in their 1st year of leadership, our top notch staff included many familiar faces from previous seasons. Congratulations and thank you to all for providing NBBC with another happy and safe summer, operating the camp with maximum efficiency!

NBBC's Need Continues In Off-Season
In order to continue to provide economically disadvantaged children and those with special needs with totally free summer camp experiences, our camp has become increasingly dependent upon the generosity of individuals outside of our operation for donations of goods, services and funding. NBBC has successfully operated this way for over a century.
