NBBC's 106th Season Enters Final Stretch
As the "Dog Days" of summer set in, NBBC's 106th season is entering the final stretch of what has been a great summer for all involved. Last year, our mission hosted scores of camper children from nine different groups who all raved about their Barr Camp Weeks on Lake Geneva! This year our Children's Program was expanded and hosted ten groups with even more activities, including the addition of Kayaks to our Waterfront Program. We invite you to experience our camper program in action by visiting our activities page and to learn more about our camp's facilities and history by exploring this site.

NBBC Celebrates Achievements of 2015 Camp Staff

As our camper program ends, we bid farewell to many of our staff members who are already heading back to school for another year. In honor of their outstanding efforts this season, NBBC held an appreciation celebration on Sunday evening August 16th to reward them for their great work. Introduced by Camp Manager, Bill Tarver, each staff member received awards and gifts during the ceremony. The event was well attended by grateful cottagers and volunteers of NBBC.

"Seaspar" Returns to NBBC as 9th Group of Summer

NBBC welcomed back one of our longest and favorite camper groups, Seaspar as our 9th group of the summer. Many members of this group have visited Barr Camp for several years in a row and were all anxious to return to enjoy another fantastic Barr Camp Week. They particularly enjoyed one of our newest features this season, the Weekly Dance Party! See all the fun in this slideshow created by Carolyne Luna!

NBBC Hosts 68th Annual Corporation Meeting

For the 68th time in it's 106 year history, the Norman B. Barr Camp Corporation met Saturday morning August 15th in the camp's Bowman Chapel. The Board of Directors meeting followed the corporation meeting, with Bob Schueler stepping down as Vice President and Tom Sergenian elected to fill the position. In addition, Bob's brother Bill was elected to the Board of Directors replacing Carolyn Schamberger, who resigned earlier this year.
NBBC Youth Attempt Annual Walk Around The Lake

NBBC's 2015 Annual Lake Walk an "unofficial" camp event, took place Sunday August 9th with one of the largest groups in the recent history of this around-the-lake journey. Nearly 20 young people, ranging in age from 11 to 20 set out on the 26 mile trek and just over 10 hours later, a dozen of them completed the hike. No worries though, those who "didn't quite make it" were fetched by understanding parents. Congrats to everyone who tried!
"Maria Kaupas Center" Enjoys First Visit TO NBBC

We welcomed a new group of campers from Maria Kaupas Center to camp two weeks ago. Their Barr Camp Week introduced them to all the fun activities that NBBC has to offer and they were truly astonished and impressed by the camp, our facilities and the programs we offer. They hope to be invited back each year. Witness their experience in this slideshow created by Assistant Manager Carolyne Luna!

Thanks To The 2015 Camp Staff

NBBC's 2015 Summer Season has been a great success!. Under the expert guidance of Camp Manager, Bill Tarver and Asst. Manager, Carolyne Luna, both in their 1st year of leadership, our top notch staff included many familiar faces from previous seasons. Congratulations and thank you to all for providing NBBC with another happy and safe summer, operating the camp with maximum efficiency!

NBBC's Need Continues In 2015
In order to continue to provide economically disadvantaged children and those with special needs with totally free summer camp experiences, our camp has become increasingly dependent upon the generosity of individuals outside of our operation for donations of goods, services and funding. NBBC has successfully operated this way for over a century.
