NBBC's 106th Season Passes Midway Point
Passing the midway point of the summer, NBBC's 106th season is in full swing and so far, it has been a great summer for all involved. Last year, our mission hosted scores of camper children from nine different groups who all raved about their Barr Camp Weeks on Lake Geneva! This year our Children's Program has expanded and will be hosting ten groups with even more activities, including the addition of Kayaks to our Waterfront Program. We invite you to experience our camper program in action by visiting our activities page and to learn more about our camp's facilities and history by exploring this site.

"St. Gall School" Has Another Great Barr Camp Week!

NBBC welcomed back one of our favorite camper groups, St. Gall School as our 7th group of the summer. They enjoyed perfect weather and all that Barr Camp offers including kayaking & fishing, plus motor boat rides, a visit to Yerkes Observatory and "The Great Scott Magic Show"as well as our new Weekly Dance Party! See all the fun in this slideshow created by Assistant Manager Carolyne Luna!

Blue Moon Over Norman B. Barr Camp

"Once in a blue moon" refers to the rarity of a Blue Moon, which is the second full moon within in the same month. This year we had a full moon on July 1st and again on July 31st, when this photo was taken from the NBBC pier by Staff Member Alex Heschong. The last Blue Moon was in 2012 and the next will be a cold one in January, 2018. (By the way, the moon isn't really blue ... we just added the color effect to Alex's great picture for fun!)
NBBC Boat Cruise V Fundraiser A Great Success!

NBBC's 2015 Boat Cruise V Fundraiser was an outstanding success! Nearly 60 NBBC volunteers and friends enjoyed a perfect evening cruising Lake Geneva, plus they were treated to a spectacular fireworks display near the end of the cruise. The Silent Auction contained over 40 items valued at about $5.000 available for bids. Everyone had a wonderful time and the camp's Infrastructure Fund benefited greatly from the event!

The 2015 Camp Staff

This Season's NBBC Camp Staff may look very familiar and that's because they are! Nearly everyone on this year's staff has returned or they have been a resident of Barr Camp in the past. Under the direction of our new Manager, Bill Tarver and our new Assistant Manager, Carolyne Luna, the camp is operating at peak efficiency and looks great.

NBBC's Need Continues In 2015
In order to continue to provide economically disadvantaged children and those with special needs with totally free summer camp experiences, our camp has become increasingly dependent upon the generosity of individuals outside of our operation for donations of goods, services and funding. NBBC has successfully operated this way for over a century.
